Pita Bread • makes 12
A daunting task the first time I made pita bread, following the video (link below) was my saving grace. The recipe, 'Easy Peasy Pita' is from the 'Eating Out Loud' recipe book by Eden Grinshpan. Everyone who has sampled the pita bread has loved it. Enjoy the challenge, you will be happy with the outcome.
Ingredients
1 envelope (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast *
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
5 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1 tablespoon kosher salt (table salt also works)
* Platinum Yeast from Red Star worked the best for me (Fleischmann's yeast did not produce the best result)
